Why it matters: Calling and joker rules are where most beginners get embarrassed at the table. After this lesson, you'll know when to speak up and when to stay quiet.

📣 What Does "Calling" Mean?

During the game, players draw and discard tiles. Normally, a discarded tile is gone.

When another player discards a tile you need, you can call to claim it — just say so out loud before the next player draws.

Calling turns an opponent's discard into a tile you can use — one of the fastest ways to complete a group.
