It's Your Hand

You're sitting down for your first real hand of American Mahjong. You've done all the lessons, your card is in front of you, and the wall is built — time to roll for East and deal.

One thing to hold lightly: your first game may feel fast, and winning isn't the goal yet — recognizing what's happening and getting comfortable at the table is. The winning comes later.

We'll play one complete hand together, start to finish — every draw, every discard, every call, all the way to Mahjong. At each decision we'll stop so you can see exactly what to weigh and why. This is your hand now.
