Reading the table, tracking discards, and not feeding the win

Goal: Learn to read opponents' exposures and discards, identify hot vs. safe tiles, and know when to switch from offense to defense

Why it matters: The hardest game to lose is the one where you hand the winning tile to your opponent. Defense is how you stop being that player.

Opponents can call tiles you discard. If you throw the one that completes their hand, you pay them double for the win.

Defense is reading the table — watching exposures and discards — so you don't feed tiles to whoever's closest to Mahjong.
